ADVANCED DRAMA
The KEYS Advanced Drama class is an audition class designed for students with at least a year of acting/stage experience.  This class is for motivated students who have a passion for acting. There will be great concentration on stage performance, authentic character development, enunciation, body language & awareness, and improvisation.  Along with performances and rehearsals, there will be other graded assignments and projects including memorization, reading, and written assignments.

Students interested in auditioning for Advanced Drama should prepare a memorized monologue from the audition packet (linked below). Advanced Drama is for students in 9th through 12th grade.

DRAMA ENSEMBLE

The Ensemble Class is an audition class designed for students who have taken at least one year of Advanced Drama (or the equivalent outside of KEYS). Students should be comfortable and confident on stage and be familiar with theater terminology. Students will concentrate on preparing one-act performance pieces and skits.  Students will participate in costume design, set design, and will also gain a more in-depth understanding of the technical aspects of theater. As part of their outreach activities, students will volunteer at local community theaters to help with set building, painting, costumes, ushering, etc. Students may audition for and participate in the spring production or support the production technically. Students may also participate in any of the Advanced Drama activities (fall/winter performance and lip sync competition).

Students interested in auditioning for Drama Ensemble should prepare a one- to two-minute dramatic monologue of their choosing. Students in Drama Ensemble will attend the KEYS M.O.S.T. trip in the spring of 2018. Drama Ensemble is for students in 10th through 12th grade.
